id: sample-branding-themes-appearance-system-follow title: 'System appearance follows the device' order: 280 tags: [capability-dependent]#

Prerequisites#

A browser adapter can emulate device color scheme; otherwise report blocked with the missing capability.

Steps#

1. Set Appearance to system.
2. Emulate light device appearance and inspect the product data-appearance.
3. Emulate dark appearance and inspect again.
4. Select light explicitly, emulate dark again and inspect.

Expected outcomes#

• System mode resolves to the emulated device setting.
• The explicit light override remains light despite a dark device.
